Stressful Trauma

Quote from Mountain Dreamer

Biography of Shannon H. Pennington

Biography of Robert L. Smith

Stressful trauma for emergency services:

We are exposed to traumatic events everyday in our chosen careers. Stressful trauma is a fact of life that we work with.

When stressful trauma accumulates inside of us to such a degree that our moment to moment thoughts and actions or, our hour to hour or day to day actions become altered in such a way so as to cause us to doubt ourselves and, have the energy of the event(s) affect our moods, or reach to the core of our beings then:

It can be said that we are in crisis.

To suggest that we can by ourselves, in the silence of the misery, find a way out of the inner darkness is to hide the truth.

To seek help from others by "sounding off" that we need help understanding what is happening to us is the sign of professional maturity.

Seeking competent assistance is the only way we will progress into a healthy future for all emergency care givers on the front line.
