As We Ring In The New Year......
Season's greetings to you and yours!

Greetings,

I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a happy holiday.  As 2015 comes to an end and we ring in 2016, take a look back at all the lives we have affected the last year. I know when I come to work each morning, I have the chance to impact lives for the good. The thing with Behavioral and Mental health is, we don't close for the holidays. Station House remains open and ready to help the next struggling first responder.

If you have a first responder struggling with addiction or alcoholism, feel free to give me a call. The greatest gift an alcoholic or drug addict could give themselves or their family for the holidays is the chance at a new life. Trust me I know.....!

Stay Safe,

NAFFVN has reviewed this video and invites those who have been affected by being "Stigmatized" in the Fire Service or as a First Responder in Law Enforcement, EMS or the Military to take the "time out to listen to the music and to follow the words" of the author. This is a vital video which delves into the "Stigma" of Mental Illness. After being invited by the government of Canada to the World Conference on Stigma and Mental Health in the Workplace held in Ottawa Canada in June of 2012

I can say that there are changes due and changes on the horizon for the work place inclusive of PTSD understanding and coverage as a work related injury.

Check out our web site for the recent updates regarding PTSD Presumptive Coverage from the Workers Compensation Board directly targeted at First Responders on the front lines from Premier Alison Redford of the Government of Alberta Canada.
